Graduated from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke with a major in Health & Physical Education and a minor in U. S. History. I have A Masters in School Administration from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, also.

Prior to going into teaching, I worked for United Carolina Bank for 9 years as Printing Manager and Purchasing Agent. I taught for 2 years in the Whiteville City Schools District before moving to teach in Horry County. I taught there for 1 year before moving to Bladen County Schools where I am in my 7th year.

Coaching Experience- I have been coaching for 33 years: 25 at Whiteville High School where I coached basketball, football, and track, and 8 in Bladen County as basketball coach at Elizabethtown Middle School and 3 years as softball coach at East Bladen High School.

I am married with 2 children. My wife Sharon, who is the finance director for Bladen County Schools, and I have been married for 26 years, soon to be 27 on January 25, 2013. We have a son, Robbie who graduated from Pitt Community College in May and was Drafted by the Kansas City Royals baseball organization in the June 2010 draft. He is a pitcher. Our daughter Caroline graduated from Whiteville High School. She is in her second year at Southeastern Community College and plans to transfer to Wilminton to major in Radiogrophy.
